Accessibility

Our approach

Ixpo is built to be usable by as many people as possible, on any device, in any of the seven languages we support. We aim to follow the WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines as a working standard and treat accessibility as part of ordinary development rather than an afterthought.

What is in place

• Semantic headings, landmarks and lists so screen readers can navigate pages in a meaningful order.
• Full keyboard operation: navigation, search, Ask Ixpo, country and city filters, forms and the mobile menu can all be reached and used with Tab and Enter.
• Visible focus indicators on interactive elements.
• Labels on every form field and accessible names on icon-only buttons.
• Generous touch targets on mobile and a layout that reflows without horizontal scrolling.
• Text contrast chosen against the interface background rather than decorative imagery.
• Right-to-left layout for Arabic, including navigation, filters and directional icons.
• Alternative text on manufacturer imagery where the manufacturer has supplied it.

Known limitations

Some content is supplied by manufacturers, so image descriptions and document quality depend on what they upload. We encourage manufacturers to add descriptive alternative text and continue to improve prompts in the dashboard.
